March 28, 2008 Zhe Zhang Zone #51 (e-mail only). Projects at multiple mills to increase capacity.  Raw material price increases continue.
June 13, 2008 Zhe Zhang Zone #52 (e-mail only). Coke world export price up to $600 per tonne.  Industry continues to consolidate and initiate IPO's where possible.
June 20, 2008 Zhe Zhang Zone #53 (e-mail only). Domestic coke prices increase to $440 per tonne in Shanxi Province.  Export price for metallurgical cost could reach $700 per tonne.
July 25, 2008 Zhe Zhang Zone #54 (e-mail only). Olympics will cut steel production by 10 million tonnes.  Coke prices drop to $454 per tonne as northern mills close, increasing supply.
September 10, 2008 Zhe Zhang Zone #55 (e-mail only). Urge to Merge hits China.  Slower market results in production cuts and consolidation.
October, 21, 2008 Zhe Zhang Zone #56 (e-mail only). Brand new blast furnaces stand idle as prices drop below the cost of raw materials inputs.  No clarity in pricing is adding to the complexity of the market.
October 29, 2008 Zhe Zhang Zone #57 (e-mail only). Many mills take extended holidays due to building inventories and falling market prices.  Long-term ore contracts now a burden.
December 10, 2008 Zhe Zhang Zone #58 (e-mail only). Steel market outlook remains uncertain despite falling raw material prices.  Mills looking for $40-50 per tonne iron ore contract prices in 2009.
